Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sourcing and Purchasing Duties:
- Identify reliable suppliers and vendors for various hospital needs, both locally and internationally.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs), proposals (RFPs), and tenders.
- Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders.
- Ensure all procurements comply with hospital policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant Ethiopian regulations.
- Supplier and Contract Management Duties:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Manage contracts with vendors, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
- Inventory and Logistics Duties:
- Collaborate with the Store Clerk and relevant departments to manage inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Coordinate logistics for timely delivery of goods.
- Documentation and Reporting Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information.
- Prepare procurement reports, including cost analysis and savings achieved.
- Other Duties as Required:
- Perform other duties assigned by senior management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of demonstrable experience in a Procurement role.
- Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, ethical sourcing, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
