The Radiologist will specialize in interpreting medical images (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, mammograms, etc.) to diagnose and sometimes treat diseases. This role is crucial for clinical decision-making across all medical specialties, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical Duties:
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy) accurately and provide comprehensive reports.
- Consult with referring clinicians regarding appropriate imaging protocols and interpretation of findings.
- Perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainages, and aspirations, where applicable (interventional radiology experience is a plus).
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are adhered to for both patients and staff.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and provide radiological insights.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain detailed and organized records of imaging studies and reports.
- Ensure the functionality and calibration of radiology equipment in collaboration with biomedical engineers.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of radiology department policies and quality assurance measures.
- Educational Duties:
- Educate junior medical staff, technologists, and students on basic radiology principles and interpretation.
- Stay updated with advancements in medical imaging technology and diagnostic techniques through continuous professional development.
