The General Surgeon will provide surgical care to patients requiring operative procedures. This role involves diagnosing surgical conditions, planning and executing surgeries, and ensuring comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. The surgeon is expected to collaborate with other departments to deliver patient-centered care, adhering to the highest standards of medical practice in Ethiopia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical Duties:
- Evaluate patients and accurately diagnose a wide range of surgical conditions.
- Perform a broad spectrum of general surgical procedures with proficiency and adherence to surgical protocols.
- Monitor post-operative recovery diligently and effectively manage any complications that may arise.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records in compliance with Ethiopian health regulations.
- Actively participate in surgical rounds, case discussions, and mortality reviews to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Administrative Duties:
- Collaborate effectively with all members of the surgical team, nursing staff, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, upholding safety standards.
- Actively contribute to hospital-wide quality assurance initiatives and robust infection prevention and control programs.
- Educational Duties:
- Support the training and mentorship of medical interns and residents, if applicable, fostering a learning environment.
- Commit to continuous professional development, staying updated with local and international surgical guidelines, best practices, and advancements.
