Duty Station: - Washington Healthcare PLC Addis Ababa
ABOUT WASHINGTON HEALTHCARE
Washington Healthcare Plc (WHC) is a specialized secondary care facility based in Addis Ababa, committed to
delivering high-quality and affordable healthcare services to both local and international communities.
Established in January 2015, WHC has served over 120,000 patients. The center operates 24/7 and is staffed by
experienced Ethiopian, American, and visiting physicians across subspecialties such as cardiology, neurology, and
oncology.
WHC is currently expanding into a multi-specialty institution with a long-term vision of becoming a tertiary care
hospital and medical school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver immediate and efficient emergency nursing care to patients
Assess and prioritize patients based on urgency
Assist physicians during emergency procedures
Administer prescribed medications and treatments
Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate records
Ensure emergency equipment readiness
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BSc Degree in Nursing
Valid professional license to practice nursing
Minimum 3 years of ER or critical care experience

KNOWLEDGE:

Emergency triage protocols and patient prioritization
Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ACLS) principles
Emergency medications and their administration
Infection prevention and control standards
Use of emergency equipment (defibrillators, oxygen systems, monitors)
Documentation standards and patient record systems

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong clinical and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure
Effective communication and teamwork
Good time management
