Data Clerk, for the Research Project.
Position: Data Clerk (1)
Reporting to: Study Coordinator & Principal Investigator
Location: St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Duties and ResponsibilitiesData Entry & Management
- Enter study data accurately and timely into the electronic database system from source documents
- Transfer data from paper-based case report forms (CRFs) and study worksheets into the electronic data capture system
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based filing systems for all study documentation
- Ensure all required data entered is complete, accurate, and consistent with source documents.
- Code and categorize data according to study protocol requirements
- Perform and track regular data quality checks to identify missing data, inconsistencies, or errors
- Generate and resolve data queries in collaboration with the clinical study team
Data Quality & Monitoring
- Perform routine data checks for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
- Generate data queries, track query resolution, and maintain an audit trail in compliance with ICH-GCP.
- Support field teams in minimizing missing or erroneous data.
Required Qualifications
- BA/ BSc in Data management, IT, Computer Science or related field of study
- Certificate in Data Management or Clinical Research (added advantage)
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate
- Computer-literate with proficiency in web applications and MS Office Suite
- Minimum one (1) year cumulative experience in data entry, in a healthcare or research setting, preferably in Newborn and maternal health
- Experience with electronic data capture systems or clinical research databases
- Demonstrated experience with data quality control and verification processes

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with infant or maternal health clinical trial data.
- Familiarity with Android-based tablet data collection systems.
- Previous involvement in research projects.
- Understanding of data security, and cloud/server-based systems.
