JOB DESCRIPTION – Finance Manager

Department: Finance
Reports To: Director, Finance & Administration
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

1. Job Purpose

To manage ABH’s financial operations and provide accurate, timely and decision-useful financial information to support profitability, liquidity, growth and effective management of the Company’s consulting, workforce supply, medical solutions, academy/training and project implementation activities.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and management accounts.
  • Coordinate annual budgets, financial plans, cash-flow forecasts and rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance, profitability, costs and budget variances by business unit and project.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables and financing requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, advances, revenue, margins and financial compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax, statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain effective financial controls, segregation of duties and compliance with ABH policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper application of IFRS and applicable Ethiopian financial and tax requirements.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, balance-sheet reconciliations and month-end closing.
  • Support procurement, inventory and fixed-asset financial controls.
  • Ensure effective use and integrity of the Company’s ERP/financial management system.
  • Provide financial analysis for new projects, contracts, investments, pricing and business decisions.
  • Coordinate external audits and follow up audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Supervise, coach and develop Finance staff.
  • Provide financial advice and early warning to management on liquidity, profitability, cost and financial risks.

4. Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s degree/professional qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial finance role.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, taxation and internal controls.
  • Experience in project-based or diversified business operations is preferred.
  • ERP experience, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and Ethiopian tax and regulatory requirements.
