About the Job

The Opportunity

 

Responsible for overseeing fleet operations, transportation, asset management, and warehouse functions to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain support. Key duties include managing fleet maintenance, vehicle allocation, transportation services, customs clearance, fleet safety and compliance, asset lifecycle management, inventory control, warehouse operations, stock monitoring, and distribution processes. The role ensures optimal utilization of organizational resources, accurate record keeping, timely reporting, and adherence to safety, security, and inventory management standards while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support program delivery.

 

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

About You

Qualifications/Experience / Skills Essential:

  • Education at BA Degree level or equivalent study in fields such as Supply Chain Management/Logistics Management/ Business Administration, or a related field of study

  • At least 5 + years of relevant experience in Logistics & Supply Chain management, with at least 3 years on senior-level experience in warehouse, asset, customs clearing, and fleet not necessarily gained in an NGO /INGO .

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving capability;

  • Ability to influence others’ behaviour through effective relationship building; thorough current knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, frameworks, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively in the area of expertise.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across a network

  • Planning and organisation skills on short and long-term frames

  • Strong negotiating and facilitating skills

  • Strong decision-making skills

  • Strong team-building and motivational skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, SAP, FMS, and asset and inventory software

  • Strong technical skills in fleet, asset, and inventory

  • Solutions-oriented, focused on programme outcomes, and attention to detail

  • Customer service oriented

 

Qualifications/Experience Desirable:

  • Certification in mechanics
  • Training and capacity building would be an advantage
  • Experience in international supply chains and customs regulations would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian sector trends and constraints would be an advantage
  • Additional experience in supply chain management is a plus
Requirement Skill
 
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under pressure.
 
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
