About the Job
The main duty of Microbiologist is to make proper sampling, preparation of reagents/media, conduct microbiological analysis, reporting of findings and routine equipment maintenance.
- Prepare and aliquot pre-analytical reagents and media.
- Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, verify accuracy, and prepare test reports.
- Participate in product development, sensory evaluation, and shelf-life testing.
- Perform routine housekeeping and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Conduct instrument preventive maintenance, including preparing standards, restocking chemical inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment in proper condition; in case of breakdown, take initiative, coordinate, and assist the laboratory manager in ensuring timely repairs.
- Proactively monitor, review, and communicate to ensure data compliance with process specifications.
- Follow established procedures for cleaning and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure timely disposal of tested samples as per procedure.
- Ensure the laboratory area is clean and well-organized.
- Use and wear protective equipment and clothing as required and properly report all incidents.
- Assist in identifying root causes of customer complaints.
- Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
- Adhere to and comply with the company’s code of conduct.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the manager.
- Have the responsibility to report problem(s) with regards to the FSMS to identified person(s)
