Job Summary
The Registration Officer is the frontline representative responsible for the accurate and efficient capture of demographic and biometric data from citizens for the FAYIDA Digital ID System. This role requires strict adherence to technical protocols, a customer-service orientation, and meticulous attention to detail to uphold the integrity of the "One Person, One Identity" principle.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately capture demographic and biometric data of registrants using the designated registration client software, following all established guidelines and exception-handling procedures.
- Verify registrant identity by ensuring all required original documents are present, valid, and belong to the individual being registered.
- Guide registrants through the process, providing clear explanations and confirming they are not already enrolled in the FAYDA ID system.
- Meticulously review and confirm all data entered on-screen with the registrant before final submission.
- Complete, verify, and sign consent/update forms, ensuring registrant understanding and signature/thumbprint is obtained.
- Manage the registration workstation responsibly, including accurate system login/logoff procedures and verification of correct date/time settings.
- Handle requests for updates to demographic or biometric details using the prescribed system tabs or portals.
- Ensure the registrant receives a signed acknowledgement slip upon successful registration.
- Securely scan and upload all required documents via the Registration Client and return originals to the registrant.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- COC Level 3 or Level 4 Certificate (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum age of 18 years and above.
- Applicants must possess either a Fayda ID or a valid/formal registration number.
- Proven proficiency in basic computer systems and operations.
- Fluency in English, Amharic, and the official working language of the assigned region (speaking, reading, and writing).

Work Environment
