Duty station: Addis Ababa

  • Support in HR planning as well as in developing, revising and maintaining HR policies, procedures and systems,
  • Assist in providing advice and support to Director of Administration and Finance and the Chief Executive Officer on human resources related matters,
  • Assist the HR & Contract manager in reviewing policies, procedures and make recommended changes as required,
  • Advice the HR & Contract manager on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
  • Assist in maintaining Human Resources systems and procedures across offices with particular emphasis on ensuring compliance with Ethiopian labor law & ABH personnel manual,
  • Keep track of HR activities (recruitment, annual leave and performance evaluation) and submit status report to the HR Manager on regular basis,
  • Assist in preparing HR reports (annual leaves, performance evaluations & benefits packages) periodically,
  • Assist identifying the upcoming full time and part-time vacancies in coordination with the HR & Contract manager,
  • Participate in the whole recruitment activity including vacancy announcements, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checkup, job offer, and induction orientation,
  • Support in developing HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements in terms of numbers and skill levels;
  • Assist in ensuring that local hire personnel issues and needs are met according to local labor law and ABH’s policy,
  • Assist in ensuring all contracts, terms & conditions, job descriptions for staff are issued and are in compliance with the local laws
  • Assist in updating each contract ledger on a monthly basis and present the status to immediate supervisor
  • Assist in the process of annual budget preparation and review program department budgets and performance targets;
  • Assist in examining contract related vouchers and other supporting documents before payment is affected.
  • Draft and update documents such as job descriptions, employee handbook, performance appraisal, forms and other HR related documents
  • Good at preparing and analyzing data
  • Demonstrated experience in handling multiple projects.
  • Excellent MS Office skill.
  • Excellent understanding of Ethiopia labor laws.
  • Familiar with Performance Management process
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Demonstrates a sound work ethic, and is consistent and fair in making decisions.
  • Specific experience relevant to the assignment of professional experience in employment, placement, and recruitment
  • Excellent oral and written English & Amharic language qualifications is required,
  • Ability to build relationships with a large group of teams

Educational requirements: 

  • BA in Human Resource and Organizational Development, Management, Public Administration, Business Administration and other related field from recognized university.

Experience requirements: 6 years
